OUR COMMITMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS

At Vignobles Audubert, our priority is not only to produce quality wines, but also to protect the environment.

For several years, we have been highly committed to environmental issues. No waste is released into nature. In addition, every stage of our operations is carefully considered to ensure zero impact on both the environment and people.

This is why, since 2012, we have been members of the first Environmental Management System (EMS) association for Bordeaux wines, which allows us to meet the ISO 14001 standard — an internationally recognized certification.

The drafting of the specifications is based on the principles of sustainable agriculture.
It involves a commitment to six shared values:

  • Promoting sustainable viticulture that respects the environment and supports the multifunctionality of agriculture,
  • Prioritizing natural regulatory mechanisms above all,
  • Fostering a healthy environment to protect the health of producers, their employees, and citizens in general,
  • Ensuring the production of healthy grapes and achieving great wines by minimizing residue levels,
  • Increasing biodiversity within the vineyards and their surroundings,
  • Improving the quality of water, air, and vineyard soil.

Terravitis

All French winegrowers can join the Terra Vitis association.
Certification is granted after a comprehensive assessment of the estate, compliance with a specific set of standards, and the successful completion of a certification audit (which must be renewed annually).
Vignobles Audubert is committed to respecting both the vineyard and the people who work it, by preserving biodiversity.

High Environmental Value (HVE)

High Environmental Value (HVE) corresponds to the highest level of environmental certification for agricultural operations.

The HVE certification is based on a results-oriented approach. It can be obtained through various methods, including the assessment of biodiversity indicators, plant protection strategies, soil fertilization management, and water management.

ISO 14 001

ISO 14001 sets out the requirements related to guidelines for implementing the standard within environmental management systems. Other standards in this family focus on specific approaches such as audits, communications, labeling, and life cycle analysis, and also address environmental challenges related to climate change.

ISO 14001 defines the criteria for an environmental management system and is suitable for certification. It provides a framework that companies or organizations can apply to implement an effective environmental management system.

This environmental progress approach enables us to have a policy based on a commitment to continuous improvement and pollution prevention.

Bat box

We have also installed bat boxes around our vineyard plots. Bats are insectivores and feed on 80% of the harmful insects affecting the vines. Allowing bats to nest near the vineyards helps preserve the biodiversity of the plots by reducing the need for treatments (fewer inputs and less vehicle pollution).

Solar panels

The photovoltaic panels have been installed and connected since spring, allowing us to generate electricity equivalent to the estate’s annual consumption.

The new winery

We have made every effort to respect the environment as much as possible and ensure workplace safety.
These improvements aim to reduce our environmental impact by:

  • Less polluting materials
  • High-quality insulation (better temperature control, less energy loss)
  • Water savings: soil that allows easier cleaning thanks to bright annealed interior tanks
  • Installation of LED lights
  • Individual tank regulation
  • Optimized workspaces designed to prioritize ergonomics
